Innovation prize for Africa

 

The African Innovation Foundation invites applications for its innovation prize for Africa. This honours and encourages innovative achievements that contribute towards developing new products, increasing efficiency or cost-saving in Africa. Innovations should unlock new African potential in the following five priority areas: agriculture and agribusiness. environment, energy and water. health and wellbeing. information communication technologies. manufacturing and service industry. Africans based on the continent or in the diaspora may apply, provided that their innovations are of significance to Africa. Applications may be written in English, French or Portuguese. First prize is worth US$100,000, the runner-up prize is worth US$25,000 and the special prize for social impact innovation is worth US$25,000. The top ten finalists will receive up to US$5,000 in technical support.
