Kusini Water is a social enterprise dedicated to providing clean and safe drinking water across Africa. Founded in 2016, the company utilizes nanotechnology and locally sourced macadamia nut shells to build innovative water treatment systems. These modular, customizable, and mobile-enabled systems are designed to be affordable and durable, ensuring access to clean water in rural, peri-urban, and informal settlements. Kusini Water’s mission is to serve 5 million people in rural communities with sustainable access to safe water by 2025, using locally sourced materials and renewable energy. Murendeni Mafumo, the Founder, participated in the program 2018.
