SARECO supports the UN SDGs

The SARECO Swiss – Sub-Saharan African program for research and innovation partnerships has been established within the framework of the Swiss government’s wish to build up and deepen partnerships with countries in the Global South and the wish of partners from the Global South to intensify work with research and innovation peers in Switzerland.

By implementing this program, SARECO also contributes to the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, especially to the following Goals:

  • 3 (Good Health and Well-Being)
  • 4 (Quality Education)
  • 5 (Gender Equality)
  • 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)
  • 9 (Industry,  Innovation and Infrastructure)
  • 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)

Fair Research Contracting

Based on KFPE’s 11 Principles and 7 Questions for fair and transparent cooperation in global research for development the Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED) and the Swiss Commission for Research Partnerships with the Global South (KFPE) have launched a new self-assessment tool for researchers and science institutions. This tool helps to validate key elements of research contract negotiations and contributes to establishing an equitable access to legal information.
